Hear, Hear for Headphones!

Help me give my students storage bins, Play-Doh and headphones to minimize distractions during small groups and instructional time.

My Project

Our school is located in a low socioeconomic community. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have 15 students, 5 boys and 10 girls. I teach Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. I believe in differentiated instruction and because of that, my students do a lot of learning in stations. Unfortunately, station time is noisy chaos! This chaos comes from the students’ laptops. Right now, nearly all of my students’ headphones are broken.

With these new headphones, students will focus better during station time.

My group lessons will run better due to quiet calmness. There will be less distractions. There will be more active engagement. My students currently use I-Ready, Epic, ABCya, and Starfall for instructional reinforcement. All of these applications include verbal instructions and music for engagement. Since I teach first grade, verbal instructions are a must! I am excited for my students to grow even more once they can focus during station time using the headphones. I am also asking for bins to keep the headphones in a place to keep organizations in the class room and also Play-Doh for sensory learning support. I thank you in advance for your support!
