Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is full of wonderful, kind and caring students who come from all walks of life. Even though I have students who have a difficult time bringing the basic supplies to school, they come to school ready and eager to learn. I look forward to greeting each student every morning as they enter my classroom door. The smiles and "good mornings" that I receive in return make my day.

Our students enter the doors of our colorful school knowing that the staff is prepared to help them reach their potential of being college and career ready.

My Project

Many of my students need more than just the basic reading, writing, and arithmetic lessons. They need items in order to come to school. I would like to provide the students with a toothbrush and toothpaste so they can keep brushing their teeth in the morning before coming to school to keep their teeth nice and healthy.

I like to reward my students for making the correct choices while in school.

Our school is part of a healthy choices initiative, so instead of handing my students a piece of candy when they deserve a reward, I like to place items in a treasure drawer and have them choose a nonfood item as their reward.

My students enjoy being rewarded and I appreciate you choosing to help me to keep on rewarding them with healthy items like keychains and squishy animals.
