This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with immigrant students in the South Bronx. My students have worked to build successful futures by overcoming the economic, social, and personal challenges that caused them to fail in other schools.

Our school is a collaboration between the Department of Education and the City University of New York.

In four years, our students are expected to graduate with a Regents diploma granted by the Department of Education and an Associate Degree from Hostos Community College. Students take high school classes at our grades 6-12 middle/high school, and college classes at the college.

My Project

My students are teenagers with hormones that are creating changes in their bodies. There are days when certain odors are noticeable in my classroom even with the use of face masks and deodorants. Some of this is due to students coming to my class after gym class.

I would like to my students to take home a Colgate Cavity Protection Toothpaste with Fluoride and some body wash to maintain healthy hygiene.

Daily showers can help eliminate or reduce body odors and make for a more comfortable learning environment for all my students.
