Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are amazing and full of energy. 28% of our students are ELL's and 30% are students with Special Needs. There are a total of 13 classes 6th to 8th grade, one for each grade level. We have two Integrated Co-Team Teaching classes and one self contained class for each grade level.
We believe in restorative actions to give students a much needed break and counselors to support them.
Our students are having great discussions in the classroom and they challenge one another by asking questions to support their learning.
My Project
Sports help teach adolescents accountability, dedication, leadership and other skills. Student athletes do better academically in their studies. Through sports students problem-solve and learn what teamwork means. There is definitely a physical benefit when playing sports. Sports helps with boosting esteem. Sports helps with character building, discipline, social skills, patience, and perseverance.
At our school we teach our students to be leaders.
Leaders in the classroom, in the hallways, in the cafeteria. We want our students to be aware at all times. Our students must always show responsibility, respect, and reflect on their actions each and every day.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
