I am lucky to teach 19 wonderful kindergarten students in a small, rural community in Florida. My school is a Title I school, with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges that my students face outside of the classroom, they are hard working and eager to learn each and every day. From the minute they walk in my door, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. My students are what drive me every single day to not only be a better person but to be a better teacher.
My Project
It's that time of year when we have to do everything we can to make sure we stay healthy. We are in need of Clorox disinfecting cleaning wipes, disinfecting spray, and Germ-X hand sanitizer to help prevent germs from spreading and minimize illness. Germs lead to many student absences and lost learning opportunities. I want to provide my students with a variety of healthy snacks such as Welch’s fruit snacks, Goldfish crackers, Dole fruit cups, pretzels, and granola bars so they have the energy they need to do their best.
Maintaining a clean classroom and providing healthy snacks will help my kindergarten students stay healthy and well, and ready to learn!
