My Project
My students will use the outdoor games in a variety of meaningful ways that go beyond just play. During structured class time, these games will be incorporated into physical education lessons to promote cardiovascular health, motor skills, and physical endurance. Many of my students don’t have access to safe outdoor play spaces outside of school, so these resources are essential for giving them a chance to move and explore in a positive environment.
During team-building and leadership activities, the games will help students practice communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
They’ll work together to strategize, follow rules, and support each other—skills that directly transfer to academic and real-life success.
The games will also be a valuable outlet during brain breaks and transitions, giving students a chance to reset and refocus so they return to the classroom energized and ready to learn. For students who struggle with focus or behavior, this kind of structured movement can be especially helpful in managing energy and emotions.
The games will offer a fun and healthy alternative to screen time, helping students build friendships and confidence in a safe and inclusive setting.
