This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in Deep South Texas and most of my students come from a low socioeconomic status. Some of my students have never been in school or a daycare setting. It’s the beginning of their educational lives and sometimes requires a period of adjusting.

My Project

Growing minds and bodies need full tummies. Our class has lunch at a very early time and then have a long afternoon. My students become very hungry towards the end of the day. Helping me purchase these snacks will allow me to provided something for them to eat in the afternoon. If kids are hungry then they struggle to learn. Having snacks to give my students will allow them to focus their mind and learn better. I want to be able to give my students the proper learning environment for them. One way to do this is to make sure that they have something to eat.
