Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At my school, "Every Student Counts and Every Day Brings a New Success!" Our students come to school each and every day ready to take on the world and to learn, challenging themselves to be better than they were the day before!
As an educator in my 3rd year of service, it is such a blessing to be able to work alongside the best student scholars and educators in the country!
CES, my home for the last two years, is committed to providing its students with all of the resources that are needed to engage students in rigorous, dynamic and inspirational instructional activities. There may be times when we do not have what we need, but we have taken on the "We can't yet..." not a "We can't..." attitude. Maybe we currently cannot provide our students with all of the most innovative technology available, maybe we currently do not have a 1,000+ book library of high-interest books in every classroom, but soon we will! All of the resources we want to provide to our students are available to us through the magic of DonorsChoose.org thanks to donors like you!
My Project
We know that if we are hungry, then we are not going to be our best, do our best, or learn our best. It is important for my students to have the essentials such as a healthy snack or breakfast or afternoon snack to eat.
When a student can only think about how hungry they are, it is difficult for them to think of the learning at hand.
Many of my students go home to empty refrigerators and cabinets on a daily basis. In my 4K classroom, my 4-year-old friends are full of such curiosity and energy! They come in to school hungry, and after dancing, exercising, playing, learning, and moving around, they are ready for a snack! Your generous donation will help fill their tummies when they get to school, snack time during the day, and also give them a snack to take home to eat in the evenings. For some, that snack may be the only food they eat until they get back to school the next day. By requesting foods such as Pop-Tarts, fruit snacks, applesauce, popcorn, and crackers, students have an easy and simple on-the-go but healthy snack to make it through the day or even sometimes for dinner. My co-teacher, myself, and more importantly, my students thank you in advance!
