This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We do our best to advocate taking care of your mind, body, and soul. However this can be difficult for some of our students, especially if they're hungry during the school day. Snacks are in high demand at our site, however we aren't able to use our own budgets to purchase snacks. Many of our local pantries do not have the capacity to support a site as big as ours.

Sometimes students need a small pick me up during the day, so they can recenter and refocus.

It can be difficult to focus and be present in class with an empty stomach, and I firmly believe that providing snacks for students in our wellness center will support our students' physical health, which can then improve their academics.

Our wellness team is short staffed (it's just me and our school social worker), so pre-packaged snacks in bulk are the easiest choice for us!

Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.
