Our students attend a Title I school in South Carolina.
All eight hundred of our amazing students receive free lunch. Therefore, most have limited resources at home and have many hardships to overcome. What they receive at school (food, clothing, love, and a quality education) is of the utmost importance.
It is a privilege to watch them learn and grow at school. Many of then take what they have learned home to teach their younger siblings, and in some cases teach their parents, how to read or even how to speak English. Their love of learning is contagious!
My Project
We know that if we are hungry, then we are not going to be our best, do our best, or learn our best. It is important for my students to have the essentials such as a healthy snack or breakfast or afternoon snack to eat.
Can you imagine coming to school hungry every day?
That is the reality for many of my students. Many of these same students go home to empty refrigerators and cabinets on a daily basis as well. Your generous donation will help fill their tummies when they get to school and give them a snack to take home to eat in the evenings. For some, that snack may be the only food they eat until they get back to school the next day. By requesting foods such as pop tarts, chips, mixed bars, and crackers, students have an easy and simple on the go but healthy snack to make it through the day or even sometimes for dinner. Thank you in advance for helping fill this most essential of needs for our students.
