Healthy Snacks For My Third Graders

My Students

My students learn best with hands-on experiments and firsthand looks at things. They have a great enthusiasm for learning math and science and this school year, I will be teaching ELA and Social Studies as well. We are from a Title I school.

My students come to school with an eagerness to learn.

I want to grow my students' curiosity to learn by showing them that learning can be fun. Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series always said, "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" My class does this with hands-on learning and STEAM. My classroom is a fun and inviting place to learn. I have hands-on activities every day. My goal is to introduce students to science in a fun way and inspire students to want to pursue a career in science. I also have a goal to inspire students to have a love of learning for years to come.

My Project

My students need healthy snacks such as Ritz crackers, Annie's Bunny fruit snacks, and Annie's Bunny Crackers to keep them energized for learning all day long! These snacks would allow our students to have enough energy to keep on learning throughout the day and grow their brains! If we can make sure they get a snack, they will be able to better focus and really build the fundamental knowledge necessary for them to go onto the next grade and continue to be successful throughout school. I have several students who can not afford to bring snack from home, so being able to provide a snack for them would be a blessing.

This project is important because our students have a very long day and need some different yummy snacks to help them stay engaged in learning.

If we can give them the smallest thing like an afternoon snack, they will be able to keep up their energy and learn even more in the exhausting afternoons.
