This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love learning in the classroom and also they enjoy recess and lunch time. They come to schools for almost seven hours and we are the first one to eat lunch, but then, they have to wait four hours until dismissal. Students riding the bus have to wait four and half hours for food before getting home. Our first week of school was very challenging as most of my students could not focus due to being hungry.

My students will benefit grateful from having a mini fridge in our classroom to store our snacks, either snacks that families could provide such as cheese stick, fresh fruit , go yogurts and the snacks from this project.

In addition, the freezer will provide the space for icepacks to use as needed, so they do not have to travel to our other building for an ice pack and they will not miss much of instructional time.

The dry snacks will help students refuel daily and most importantly, stay focus in our learning. There is a wide range of snacks to meet the needs of my unique students from special diet restrictions to special needs. The plastic containers will make it easier to pass out the snacks and will allow students to have their snack ready at their tables to maximize our learning time together.
