Healthy Snacks at School

My students need healthy snacks such as: crackers, granola bars, and fruit snacks, as well as a tote to store them in.

My Students

I am the lucky teacher of 23 amazing, smart, fun, energetic, artistic, creative, and amusing third graders. We live in a small, rural community. Our school has a diverse culture. Included in our boundary is a Native American reservation from which a good part of our student body comes.

Our students all qualify for free breakfast and lunch.

Even though our cultures and economic situations are varied, our school is a welcoming place of learning, working together, and providing the best for our children.

My Project

This year our schedule has changed and my third graders have lunch at 10:45 a.m. This makes for a very LONG afternoon, with rumbling tummies and empty bellies.

By having healthy snacks such as granola bars, nuts, crackers and fruit snacks my students will be able to make it through the afternoon.

Being able to provide my students with an afternoon snack, they will be able to take a short break to refresh and renew their bodies. Having healthy snacks keeps them focused and content until the end of the day.

Having a utility tote to keep the snacks in makes for an organized and efficient way for snacks to be passed out. I know we can make this new schedule work, thanks to your support!
