My Students
I teach a kindergarten class of 25 students in a very low income area. It is also a Title I school that is part of a large school district. The school is highly impacted because of poverty and very low academics. I see my students facing many challenges at school and at home because of Covid-19. I have found that my students have big personalities and even bigger hearts and love to learn new things.
The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly impacted my students emotionally, socially, and academically.
My students came in struggling to catch up because of the pandemic. I have watched my kids struggle both emotionally and socially as they work hard to learn what they need to know to be academically successful and create friendships with other classmates.
My students are amazing kindergarteners that are hard working, determined kids from diverse backgrounds. In my classroom, we use our shared experiences to learn and grow together. Each of my students brings a unique perspective to our classroom family.
My Project
These supplies will help students to be prepared to learn.Kindergarten students learn through expression, experience, listening, and movement. The Ultimate Aromatherapy Diffuser and Essential Oils will give the classroom a calm feeling to help them learn. The literature such as Ninja Life Hacks and other titles along with the Families and Social Emotional Photo Libraries will help me teach my students good social emotional habits. These books and photos will also open up dialogue where my students can have good character building discussions. Students will use the Remo Kids Drums, Yaegoo Hand Tambourine Bells, Lummi Sticks, and the Augshy Egg Shaker rhythm instruments and the Hkacsthi Movement Scarves and Orzizro Dance Ribbons to express feelings, move their bodies, and learn rhythm. The students will use the Magic Wand, Tapp Collections Bingo Chips, and Rekenrek Abacus to sharpen their skills in mathematics. Students will use the Bob Books and other decodable titles to practice reading fluency. The Sharpie Flip Chart markers and the Mr. Sketch Markers will be used to enhance teaching and student experience.

Covid-19 has not only been ruff on everyone, but it has been tough on our students. These products and tools will help me give my students opportunities every day where they can express themselves openly through music, dance, and discussion. They will be able to grow emotionally, socially, and academically in a safe and fun environment.
