This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As an educator committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, I am reaching out to DonorsChoose to request cleaning products for the upcoming allergy/cold season. Many of my English Language Learner (ELL) and Special Education (SE) students come from low-income families, facing unique challenges that impact their learning experiences. By providing essential cleaning supplies, we can ensure a healthier and more conducive environment for their academic growth.

The cleaning products I am requesting, including disinfectants, sanitizers, and allergen-reducing cleaners, will have a direct and positive impact on my students' learning.

Firstly, these products will help alleviate the spread of germs and allergens in our classroom, reducing the risk of illnesses and allergic reactions. By maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, students can focus more effectively on their studies without being hindered by discomfort or health concerns.

Furthermore, for ELL students, a clean environment is essential for language acquisition and comprehension. When students are not distracted by allergies or illnesses, they can fully engage in language activities and interactions, thereby enhancing their language skills. Similarly, for SE students who may have sensory sensitivities or health issues, a clean environment is crucial for minimizing potential triggers and creating a space where they can feel safe and supported in their learning journey.

In conclusion, the provision of cleaning products, tissues, and soap for my ELL and SE students is not just about maintaining hygiene; it is about investing in their well-being and academic success.
