This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have curious minds and are eager to learn! They come to school wanting to know more about the world and education. They are enrolled in a dual immersion classroom. Eighty percent of my students are English Language Learners and twenty percent are Spanish Language Learners. Some of my students are learning a third language since they come from a Mixteco background.

Our school is a Title I school and is located in a high poverty area.

Most of the students' background is low social-economic and all quality for free breakfast and lunch. The majority of their parents are farm and migrant workers. All of my students come from hard-working families.

Despite their home needs, they always try their best!

My Project

My students have a passion for soccer. However, the students do not have the equipment needed. My students often place sweaters to mark the goals. The playground area they use is very limited.

The requested soccer goals and cones will divide the area for soccer and other students will know they can't walk through that area.

It will also prevent students from getting hit by the ball. The adidas soccer ball, scrimmage vests, and soccer bibs will provide them with the equipment they need to learn how to play soccer. We'll store the materials in the folding beach wagon.

The materials will also engage them in physical activity during recess and our Physical Education period. They will have more stamina to learn during the day. They will be happy and ready to learn, but more importantly it will keep them active.
