Our class consists of 25 amazing students with a range of skills and needs. My co-teacher and I educate students in an amazing inclusion classroom that meets the needs of every student. Our diverse students are hardworking, lively, and energetic.
Our foundational lens for learning this year is that our students are good people who just happen to be good readers, good writers, and good mathematicians!
The students embody the practices of what it takes to be good people to each other and the community. They represent a multitude of cultures and ethnicities. Some students receive English language support and special education support.
My Project
Kindergarten is truly magical. From the moment the students walk through the door to the moment they leave, we want our students to know and feel that they are good people with big brains. My co-teacher and I have created an environment of safety, engagement, and learning. Because of the global pandemic we need to place an even greater emphasis on the safety of our students. Desk shields, face masks, and face shields will help foster a greater sense of safety for everyone in our learning environment.
The clear desk shields will help prevent the spread of germs and illnesses, including Covid-19.
Students will be able to use disposable face masks if and when a student needs to replace their mask. Having a thermometer on hand will help us to check on our students without having to send them to another room and prevents exposure. The clear face shields will offer the teachers an extra layer of protection, as our little ones often wiggle and move to get their excitement out!
These materials will truly make a difference in helping to prevent the spread of germs while also easing the concerns that many families have with a return to the classroom. We currently are unable to afford these extra layers of protection as a school. Please consider a donation to help our students thrive! We appreciate each and every one of you!
