My students need headphones to work in the classroom and computer labs on reading, writing, and math. They will also cut down on the occurrence of lice!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Gordon's classroom raised $315

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We start each day with a smile and a high five! These kids are ready to learn and excited to have the opportunity to be in school. They have very little at home, but they have loving, supportive parents and caregivers. It is truly my pleasure to be their teacher.
We are engineers, scientists, inventors, writers, readers, and mathematicians.
Recently they designed bridges, learned about properties of matter and physical reactions caused by heating and cooling, wrote fabulous essays on what they are thankful for, and mastered 2 digit addition. Wow!
My Project
The headphones I am asking for will be given to each child to keep as their own for the year and then take home next summer. They will be used in my homeroom, in the computer labs, and in core support. Students will be working on reading skills such as phonics, spelling, compound words, synonyms and antonym, reading comprehension in literature and informational text, writing sentences and paragraphs, and math skills including math facts fluency, word problems, graphing and money.
Children from low socioeconomic backgrounds such as mine rarely have their own things to take care of and be proud of.
These headphones will be theirs. They will see that someone cared about them and wants them to learn and succeed. It will also help us keep down the occurrence of headlice that happens when headphones are shared. They will have access to learning and be safe and clean.
