Healthy, Happy Learners With an Air Purifier!

My Students

Students in my classroom are military dependents and local residents of a large town in Hawaii. Our school is a Title I school which means we have a high percentage of students from low-income families. Furthermore, our school has a transient population due to the students with parents in the military.

My students are fun-loving, preschool-aged, special education students.

Students have different disabilities such as autism, speech delays, and developmental delays, but they are eager, bright and love to learn about everything. I hope to make their first experiences in school fun and engaging.

My Project

The air purifier will provide my students with a safer learning environment. With all the safety measures put in place, one thing missing is the ability to purify the air. Our school is in Hawaii and at times it is unbearable to go without AC and have all the windows open. This model has a 12-hour timer so that I can have started before students arrive and have it turned off a few hours after I depart from school.

The air purifier will be used to ensure the highest level of cleanliness for student and staff health and safety for in-person learning.

It will alleviate some of the anxiety when it comes to COVID so that we can be healthy and happy in school!
