This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you know many students come to school without eating breakfast? Lack of nutrition is not the best way to start the school day! By teaching students about proper nutrition we can help students start their day off right!

I teach second grade to a fantastic group of students.

Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. This year the school menu changed by offering healthier choices to eat. Some students were not receptive to this menu at first. It has taken awhile for the students to get comfortable with the new, healthier choices but once they discover the benefits to healthier eating they will be glad about these changes.

My Project

The nutrition and health books and materials that I am requesting will introduce, reinforce and enhance their knowledge of nutrition. The "What's Inside Me?" apron will give the students the knowledge they need to make healthier food choices by demonstrating what the body needs to stay fit and strong. These materials will help students learn the importance of a well-balanced meal.
