This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By having a blender and air fryer in the classroom, my students can learn to prepare healthy snacks, helping them develop an appreciation for nutritious eating habits early on. These hands-on experiences will promote wellness and encourage them to make healthier food choices outside of school.
Using these tools to prepare snacks, allows students to practice critical math and science skills.
They will be able to measure ingredients, work with fractions, and explore concepts like volume and weight. They will also learn about chemical and physical changes in food, tying the activity into science standards in a tangible way.
Preparing food together fosters teamwork and social skills as students take turns, follow recipes and share responsibilities. By teaching students how to use a blender and air fryer safely. they gain confidence in their ability to prepare food. This independence can translate to life skills they'll carry into adulthood.
