My Students

My students thirst for knowledge and wisdom but often lack the resources and basic necessities to quench their thirst.

My school is located in Queens, NY, the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhood in the world.

The children who enter my classroom come from all over NYC. As such, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge that contributes to a dynamic classroom. However, many of my students also come from economically disadvantaged homes. Therefore, many times, resources are scarce.

My Project

Unfortunately, we live in a world where, often times, a child's most basic needs are not met. The need for a warm, healthy meal, often times, makes it very difficult for a child to remain focused on an academic task. Please help me keep my students nourished throughout the day and on weekends. With your help, my students will have full bellies, in the form of a snack, when in school, or as a hot meal, on a cold winter's night. Keeping focused in school is hard enough, without the added burden of hunger. Your support is most definitely vital.
