It has been especially helpful for students who struggle with attention or anxiety, allowing them to calm their bodies and minds before returning to their academic work.\r\n\r\nThe day the materials arrived, our students were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many had never seen or used a vibrating plate before, and their reactions were priceless — laughter, smiles, and amazement filled the room as they experienced it for the first time. The healthy snacks have also brought a wave of positivity. Students often stop by to grab something nutritious, and it's been heartwarming to see them choose healthier options that keep them fueled and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we plan to continue integrating the vibrating plate and healthy snacks into our daily wellness and counseling routines. This was to give students time to de-stress by working on engaging activities that allowed them to collaborate with their peers and to take a break from doing work on the computers. Most of my \"Fun Fridays\" consisted of having the students play board games, specifically The Game of Life. \r\nWhen I made playing The Game of Life an assignment, I learned that a lot of the students have never played the game before. It was fun to see the students engaging with new peers. A class that I teach is Career and Financial Management and we go over Personal Finance as part of the curriculum. Playing The Game of Life was also a great supplement for them to go through the different stages of life after high school, for example, college and getting a job. \r\nAs part of the school year, we also hosted three in-school internships. These internships help prepare students for a real internship they may later partake outside of the school. Most of these students go through the school day skipping lunch and having snacks available for them is always helpful. \r\nWe hope to continue with these traditions every school year. As teachers, we appreciate anything that will support our students to learn and come to school. They come in during their lunch period or during the change in classes to ask for snacks. When they stop by they usually use that opportunity to catch me up on what happened in their class or something they are proud of. There are other special education teachers in the room with me so they also get to bond with these students.
