This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” - Maya Angelou. This quote from Maya Angelou is our class motto. My objective is for my students to continue to be motivated and challenged so that they can keep boosting their own confidence and achieving success to fully develop their self-potential.
I teach a group of special education students who experience learned helplessness every day because they were told that their disability hinders their learning.
In reality, all they truly need is to rediscover the joy of learning. And once that light bulb clicks, my students can bring a positive classroom energy that continually inspires and motivates others. Our school provides such a stimulating, collaborative, and safe environment for students of various differences and abilities that students are often celebrated for their diversity and achievements. I work for a school where teachers put students first.
My Project
Food is the necessary fuel to get through any student's day! Being able to provide them with a healthy breakfast and snack items will allow students to have the energy to carry out their daily activities. Students will also do better in school and make better choices. We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! However, most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background and are not receiving the necessary healthy nutrients prior to coming to school, which results in very hungry, unmotivated students!
Poverty can often cut off an individual's access to these nutrients so being able to provide them with this essential breakfast and snack items will allow them to concentrate and improve their overall learning atmosphere.
There is certainly a need for these healthy bite-sized food items that will fill their little bellies. It will not only reduce hunger but help them succeed in the classroom. It will also give them the appropriate protein, energy, and nourishment that can stimulate their brains. At the end of the day, students can also take these snacks home, which will allow them to sleep better and get ready to function and learn the next day. Thanks to you, this project will ensure that students receive the vitamins they need for a healthy mind and body!
