Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in the eighth grade and are, on average, 13 years old. These students are also served in the general education classroom in the inclusion program. I work with them in the general education classroom, where I provide reading, writing, and math interventions to help them progress through grade levels.
A majority of my students are English language learners.
My students work super hard and they are excited and eager to learn. They particularly need hands-on and computer online-based programs to improve their grade-level skills, given that all of them function two or three levels below grade level. The school serves mostly underprivileged students with diverse staff.
My Project
As schools have resumed during this pandemic period, it is critical that my students have essential classroom products to keep the environment clean. This will require tissues for cleaning and trash bags for spills cleaning in the classroom. Students have been taught the importance of these products and how to use them in order not to be infected. This is in line with the general schools plan where student hygiene is front and center. These sanitary products will go a long way in providing students with a safe and clean environment for study.
