Healthy Classroom

Help me give my students a healthier learning environment. The TV is needed because I have to cover the windows because the glare is too great for my projector.

My Students

I have a wide range of high school students. I teach personal finance and accounting and I have freshman all the way up to seniors. Today's kids might be the most amazing generation. Students seem to get a bad wrap these days, but I truly wish they wouldn't. They're amazing. They have many more distractions and hurdles these days yet remain resilient. They have to learn in an unhealthy school environment daily. I hope as a teacher, I can teach them how to learn in a healthy environment while learning to live a life with healthy finances.

My Project

Students are required to be indoors the majority of the school day. Often, building off-gassing along with the lack of Vitamin D supplied in a classroom can lead to some unhealthy kids. Research has proven that healthier students learn better.

Currently, I am using a projector in the classroom.

I had to cover all the windows in my classroom just so my students can read what is presented.

I am super excited to be able to allow natural sunlight for my students.

The Hepa air purifier will create healthier air to breathe. The hydroponic garden will also provide clean air as well. It will also give me the opportunity to teach students how to grow their own healthy food.
