My students need food preparation equipment to help enrich food experiences.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bolden's classroom raised $886
This project is fully funded
My Students
The children are predominately African American youth aged 3-4 years old. Most of the children come to school well groomed, healthy, and with their basic needs of life met. As their teacher, I see energetic students that are happy to be in the classroom and eager to learn and explore. They are curious learners that find creative ways to purpose the few resources that are in the learning environment. They take pride in their accomplishments and they are thirsty to learn and discover the world around them. JFE School is a small Chicago Public School with population of approximately 400 in an economically depressed community. The school is a level 2-plus Tiered school that works hard to provide the students with the resources that are needed to all of students that attend. Unfortunately, the school is hampered by the environmental impacts of safety.
My Project
The food preparation equipment will provide core language and math skills such as counting, measuring, positional words and vocabulary that are designed to foster cognitive development. The food preparation equipment will also provide the students with an experiential learning process that stimulates family meal preparation and planning. During the group exchange, the students develop their fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving, following directions, introduction to the science behind cooking, building vocabulary words, as well as safety and cooperative sharing.Ben Franklin best describes our Prekindergarten class: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.” remember, involve me and I learn.” Please consider donating to help us in our efforts to enrich the educational experience of our students.
