Help me give my students the personal hygiene items to help keep them clean and healthy such as the Kleenex tissues during the winter season. The girls in the class will gladly use the feminine hygiene items too.

My Students

I currently teach in an inner-city comprehensive high school with magnet programs included. My Life Skills Students (LSS) participate in courses with the general education curriculum as well as in my Special Education classroom. My students' needs vary from needing one-on-one assistance in completing tasks to independence for traveling within the school building alone.

As a Life Skills Support classroom, we take five classes within our classroom.

Due to Covid-19, we are working on our hygiene and grooming skills on a daily basis. We practice handwashing skills, basic hygiene skills as well as laundry skills. We are attempting to teach the children such skills to gain their independence outside of the school setting.

My LSS students have enjoyed their past DonorsChoose project materials. They use their microwave oven, chocolate fountain, panini press sandwich maker, ice cream maker, storage cabinet, aprons, laundry cart with supplies, and brooms/dust pans. We also received our washer and dryer, thanks to Ripple! The students love DonorsChoose and they couldn't wait to choose their next project.

My Project

We will use the paper face masks on a daily basis while in the brick & mortar school setting. The students often need new masks throughout the school day and with the choices of blue or black masks the students might be more inclined to put on the masks with little resistance.

The girls in the classroom will most certainly use the feminine hygiene items.

With maturing young ladies in the classroom learning about their bodies and how to care for them, we will keep these items in our classroom bathroom for their individual use during the school day. The girls will be able to use these items whenever nature may call, and they will not need to worry about bringing items from home or forgetting to pack these items in their bags.

The deodorants and toothbrushes/toothpaste will be used on an individual basis. The students will be able to use our classroom bathroom to complete their morning hygiene ritual (s) if they did not have time at home or forgot to take care of this before coming to school.
