This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing and are learning to care for others. My students see that some of their peers are experiencing food insecurity at home. They want to start doing community service to help the families of our school community. My students want to make sure that students who are hungry in our school can have food to take from a pantry that they will create.
My project is to request shelf-stable food for a school food pantry.
Students have been learning about what food would be good to keep in a pantry that does not go bad quickly. My students will be in charge of the packages, sorting the food and delivering it to the pantry.
My students are requesting cereal, pasta, and oatmeal. These are foods that go quickly and don't get donated often. Thank you so very much for supporting this project.
