This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students I work with are diverse learners who face many challenges. Many struggle to have their basic needs met, which makes learning even more challenging.

Help me create Healthy Body & Mind comfort kits to support students in our school community who are facing challenges to meet their basic needs, including warmth, care and food insecurity.

The drawstring backpacks will be used to hold the Healthy Body & Mind kit items. The fruit snacks, crackers and juice will help provide healthy snacks for rumbly tummies. The plush stuffed animals will provide comfort and companionship. The fidgets will ease anxiety and encourage brain development. The gloves and beanies will provide warmth on frigid days.
