Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our girls are strong and resilient, but crumble at the thought of cramps. By providing our girls with period kits, we will proactively support our girls with wellness tools to prevent chronic absenteeism. As a result, we will provide a space that meets their needs, making them feel valued and seen so that they do not continue to struggle with literacy due to the lack of tools to navigate their menstrual cycle. Many of our girls live below the poverty line, limiting access to wellness products. By supporting this project, you will help us break the cycle of poverty that is perpetuated by chronic absenteeism resulting from lack of care products that help our girls navigate their menstrual cycle.
