Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a suburban/urban school in the east valley of a metro area. We have a diverse, majority Hispanic student body. We are tucked into a neighborhood that was formerly mostly affluent and white. As schools in our area have closed and neighborhood dynamics have shifted, our student body has become racially/ethnically, economically, and culturally diverse.
The lack of access to materials needed to be successful is a huge problem our students face daily.
Having access to snacks and water will keep their minds nurished, and thier bodies hydrated. So many students are missing these basic resources and if they dont get them at school, they won't get them.
My Project
Many of the students come to school without eating breakfast or lunch. By having snacks for the students, I can assure they are getting something to help them stay healthy and engaged in their studies. Being active is a lot easier when they are properly hydrated and no longer hungry. By completing this order you will be helping me give my students more than an education, you will be helping give them hope that they can accomplish their goals, and be successful in their dreams. Let's feed their minds and their bodies with that Hope!
