My Students
My students are enthusiastic children who are ready to learn. They love to explore and answer questions about the world around them. They are great at helping each other and understanding each other's differences. They are some of the hardest workers I have seen.
My students are my inspiration and we push each other to be better every day.
They know that as long as they try their best they can reach their goals! With this growth mindset, my students are unstoppable.
In my 15 years of teaching at the same elementary school, I have had all kinds of students walk through my doors. Teaching in a predominantly low-income setting can have its challenges, but that only makes the successes that much sweeter!
My Project
This year, due to Covid, we can not use the water fountains at the school. This means my children have to bring in water bottles. My school paid money to install water bottle filling stations, but unfortunately many of my students do not have bottles. I bought water bottles for the kids who did not have ones, but they were cheap and have broken and spilled water everywhere. Plus I have to hand wash them all the time. I am hoping to get the water bottles that are dishwasher safe so that I can take them home and clean them in a safer way for me and the students.
Having the water bottles would lead to a healthier and more focused classroom.
To that same end, we are eating breakfast in the classroom because of Covid. It is kindergarten and spills happen ALL THE TIME. I am asking for the swiffer so that the children and I can keep our classroom clean. We won't have to wonder what stickiness we stepped in this time if we can clean the mess up as soon as it happens.
