My students need a refrigerator with a separate freezer to help keep ice packs and diabetic snacks at approp. temperatures.
Uniforms and undies are needded for accidents.
Our health office serves over 500 children. There are many health issues at our school. We help 2-15 kids change out of soiled clothing/ week.
Our school is an Arts magnet.
Many of our Students are bussed in from north Minneapolis. 98% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We care for health issues such as Diabetes, Asthma, ADHD, and Seizures. We have 2 high 5 classes
(4 year old preschoolers) and 5 kindergarten classrooms.
The refrigerator will replace the current refrigerator that does not have a separate freezer, and has lost it's seal. It will help us have Ice packs that are actually cold, and keep the snacks in the refridgerator the appropriate temperature. The clothing will be used to loan out to students who have accidents.
By having clothing on hand, we can help students get back into the classroom faster, allowing them to have more time in direct instruction, by having clothing that fits them, the students can have a better self esteem, and less shame for having to change.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
