My Students
I teach in a rural community that serves a variety of students with varied abilities. I teach a wonderful community of first graders who work hard and are eager to learn! In our classroom, each student is valued and is an essential component of what makes our classroom team. In our classroom, TEAM means Together, Everyone Achieves More! We work together, play together, read together, write together, smile together, learn together; yet, most importantly, succeed together!

My Project
I am requesting resources to complete our Financial Literacy/Arts focus of Health and Wellness. We will complete a month long curriculum unit entitled "Taking Care of Me!" This health and wellness unit is all about taking care of yourself! This project will support our Financial Literacy/Arts focus of health and wellness.
We will explore and use various resources to focus on the the costs associated with "From Farm to Table;" as well as extend our Arts in creating colorful, healthy, edible foods and drinks!
Our four weeks of learning content is divided between themes such as Healthy Habits, Keeping the Germs Away, Personal Hygiene, and Managing Big Emotions! For each theme, we will read and review related stories (while incorporating literacy concepts such as story maps, comprehension, vocabulary, etc.), rotate and complete related centers and practice sheets, as well as, complete our hands-on activities related to each concept. This project will provide the resources needed to complete our hands-on activities such as completing our visual recipes.
