This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are mostly minority students who come from a low-income family background. They are very active and enjoy coming to school and learning science.
They are always ready to learn new skills and explore new opportunities, but the unavailability of resources makes it hard for them to understand some of the abstract concepts that I teach; therefore, the need to explain the concepts in ways that make them real, captivating and interesting becomes imperative.
My students enjoy completing class projects that involve hands-on experiments, programming, art and research, which helps them express their understanding of chemistry concepts in their own way by creating new meanings of their discoveries.
My Project
My project is about getting necessary nutrition for my students to help them get enough energy and nutrition for healthy living. My students are mostly minority students from low income households. They come to school many times without eating breakfast and they are always hungry. With your help, I want to help feed them so that they can be active and healthy enough for learning to take place.
Research has shown that healthy students perform better academically and on standardized test scores.
Please help my students with Slim Jims, Fritos Lay chips, cheese crackers, apple juice and pop tarts to keep them healthy and interested in school activities. Your donation will go a long to improve the lives of my students because they will have food and drinks that they need for healthy living. Thank you for your help.
