My Students

My students inspire me to be a better teacher because they are eager to learn, and they want to help their fellow man by learning how to save lives. As a Health Science teacher and Registered Nurse, I see students come to class ready to learn with a hope that one day they will be able to achieve their dream of becoming a healthcare professional. We live in a high poverty area with limited resources, yet, it does not stop these students from accomplishing their goals.

We want to do something amazing, and we want to show those out in the world that we have AWESOME potential to make a difference!

We are a small school but our dreams are big, and we want an equal opportunity to learn and become better with each passing day.

My Project

By utilizing the laryngoscope blade set in the classroom, students will be able to simulate skills of emergency care that can be used to narrow down career choices of the many that are discussed in the classroom. This also correlates to the emergency services unit in the Health Science curriculum. Students will be able to visualize and observe equipment used to aid in their decision-making concerning their chosen career path.

This class gives students an opportunity to develop professional skills that will guide them in becoming upstanding citizens and health care professionals.

The isolation gowns give them the realization of added protection during similar procedures in the workplace. Students are trained on how to apply and utilize the equipment in different scenarios.
