My Project
Having items like a first aid kit and band-aids in various skin tones will help create a more inclusive, prepared, and supportive environment in our middle school autistic support classroom. Having these supplies on hand allows us to respond quickly and calmly to minor injuries, which is especially important for students who may have heightened sensitivities to pain, anxiety, or change in routine. Band-aids in different skin tones promote a sense of belonging and representation, showing our students that their identities are seen and valued. These resources not only support physical well-being but also help build trust and reassurance among students, knowing their needs can be met safely and respectfully.
Hygiene products ensure that students can remain comfortable and focused on learning, rather than being distracted or anxious about their personal needs.
Access to pads, tampons, and hand sanitizer addresses essential hygiene and health needs that are often overlooked in educational settings. For students navigating puberty or sensory challenges related to personal care, having discreet access to these items promotes dignity, independence, and confidence. Hand sanitizer also supports classroom health and hygiene, especially in a space where routines around cleanliness are vital to student comfort and wellness. These small items make a big difference in fostering a classroom culture of care, safety, and respect.
