Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third-grade students walk into our classroom every day full of excitement and enthusiasm. Third grade is an exhilarating experience for most children, but for my students, all of whom come from a high-poverty neighborhood, it is a chance to spend hours visiting and learning in a more positive environment.
Our literacy classroom is a sweet escape that gives these emerging students the chance to become explorers, critical thinkers, and authors.
As a teacher, it is my job to teach diverse groups of students who learn in very different ways. My students are always eager to learn something new. My goal is to help students become active in their education so that they can enjoy learning new ideas and concepts that they can take with them throughout their educational career.
I am determined not let the obstacles of minimal to no resources be discouraging!
My Project
The essential supplies needed will help my students come and go to school healthy, hunger-free, and ready to learn. They will be able to take snacks home at the end of the day to hold them over until dinner time. The snacks will fuel all of my students' minds and help them focus more on learning. The pencils and erasers will help my students to be prepared for class each and every day.
The Kleenex, hand sanitizers, and disinfecting wipes will help with keeping all of my students clean and ready to fight germs.
The copy paper will provide intervention, remediation, and enrichment resources for my students due to the fact they are not provided with workbooks of any kind. The post-it notes will be used for our every day do-now activities that each student looks forward to. The printer ink and laminating sheets are used to keep the classroom clean, colorful, and creative. The different colored pens, staples, and paper clips will allow me to keep each skill set in order and grade each paper carefully.
These supplies give my students and I the opportunity to be prepared every day and to focus solely on learning!
