My Project
During the last chunk of the school year my students explore different instruments and the concept of timbre (the quality of a sound made by a particular voice or musical instrument). Through my last donors choose I was able to successfully acquire some traditional band instruments for us to explore and learn about the flute, saxophone, and trumpet. I would like to teach a unit on sound healing and explore the rich musical culture and traditions of China, India, and Egypt.
This project will allow students to explore different kinds of sounds and make connections to cultures they have limited experience and exposure with.
