I have 38 of the most persevering and deserving 4th graders on the planet. Many of them come from homes that are below the poverty line, but they show up at school every day ready to learn and give me their very best selves. They are fun, kind, curious and hardworking.
My students are recovering emotionally from a 7.0 earthquake and would benefit greatly from some creative art projects that would help them to explore, talk about, and create using the emotions they have felt through the last week and the weeks to come.
These students are kind, strong and brave!
My Project
This project will help to give my students learning and creative opportunities to help them heal mentally after a recent earthquake in our community. Transitioning back into school and life routines is an important step and we want to make school a safe and comfortable place, as we get back on our track of learning.
My students are returning to school after an unexpected week off due to damage from the earthquake.
These materials will help them to be able to explore and be creative as we heal through social emotional learning and project based learning within our core subjects.
