My students are truly courageous souls who are learning to live sober, healthy, productive lives, voluntarily!
Many of these students come from very challenging life situations: they have had caregivers who may be abusive, use drugs, are incarcerated or are just lacking in healthy life skills, leaving their children without the education and example they need. I provide a safe place for them to talk, heal, and learn.
I teach students better ways to cope with life and the consequences of their choices so that they can make better choices. I am so impressed by their willingness to learn, grow, and heal. It is my honor to be a part of their recovery process.

My Project
I counsel and teach both individuals and small groups about the consequences of drugs and alcohol. These supplies can make all the difference.
I use art and toys as a way to get students to open up and share, so they can heal, grow, and learn to leave drugs and alcohol behind.
Having a round table would be a great way for us all to connect and create. The locking filing cabinet will keep important client information safe and private. The carpet will complete a relaxing area for kids to decompress. I already purchased some bean bag chairs and other items for this area, and it will be a great place to open up.
