Headsets with Microphones: A Key to Becoming an English Speaker
Help me give my students what they need to develop as English speakers. The microphone on these headsets will allow them to view how the computer interprets their pronunciation as they repeat a native speaker.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fourth grade students are learning to read, write and speak English. These headsets with microphones will be critical tools for students at these "entering" and "emerging" levels of English proficiency. They will be able to use them to listen to native speakers read texts and to repeat that text back into a voice to text tool within Google documents. With that free Google Doc feature they be able to compare what the computer "hears" with what the text has written. And in doing so work on their articulation and pronunciation until their text matches the model. As the students gain fluency with English they will be able to dictate their thoughts in writing, and have the opportunity to revise their text with the suggestions from Google Documents.
