My Project
Many of my students are economically disadvantaged and have special needs that require text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionality at school. Many times for independent work, I record audio and read the text passages for the students so they can listen to it. The students that need headsets the most are the ones who don't have access to them at home, let alone something they can bring to school. Although I currently teach science, next year I may be teaching a digital media class in which headsets for each student would be incredibly helpful as we learn about things like podcasting and livestreaming.
