My students need 28 headsets to create screencasts and tutorial videos to explain physics phenomena. Additionally students will video conference with professionals to collaborate on end-of-year projects.

My Students

We are proud to be authorized in the PYP, MYP, and DP offering an IB education from K - 12.

There are only 25 schools in North America and the Caribbean who hold this distinction.

Our high school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Chicago (27% white, 28% Hispanic, and 33 % Black, and 7% Asian). forty-seven percent of our students are eligible for free or reduced-priced lunch. Eleven percent of our students have Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and receive support in co-taught classrooms as well as extra resource time. Half of our students come from our elementary school and the other half apply from all over the city.

My Project

Students will use the headsets for watching and creating online tutorials for problem-solving. Students will be able to discuss and question the videos in live time as their are watching them together.

Students will learn at their own pace through the video tutorials in addition to video conferencing professionals who can advice them on their research projects.

Students can go review or move onto advanced topics on their own.

Students will also create screencasts to show how they are applying physics concepts to their personal interests and other disciplines. The skill of creating screencasts is transferable to creating any online tutorials. Students will learn better from each other and the screencasts will also capture student voice in a digital portfolio.
