My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. My focus from the minute they walk in the door of my classroom is on their potential and growth while they are with me. I love that I can control their experience during the school day in a positive manner. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence. My students are an astounding group of children.
They come in every day excited to learn and to see what fun activities we are going to do together.
Many of my students come from very little and don’t always have what they need for that day. There are many students in our Title I school and getting supplies for each one of them can sometimes be a challenge.
My Project
My students are very active. We are constantly moving around the room especially during small group reading and math time. Wobble stools will be such an asset to our reading and math small group time.
Small groups are such an important time during our day and it's when I need my little ones really focused on our lesson.
These stools have the potential to increase engagement, focus, motivation, and enjoyment of school. These stools will be able to be used for many years and will help students see that we all need different things to help us learn best.
In second grade, we use lots of ink for interactive notebooks. The kids are constantly printing things out and ink goes very fast. Last but not least, I need headphones for our computers. Students use computers for a number of things including Accelerated Reading. During this time they need headphones for testing. The majority of my kids do not have their own set of headphones.
