Headphones+Floor Desks= Technology Center

My Students

Second graders are enthusiastic about life and learning! Each morning when I come to school, I am greeted by 27 students that can't wait to get into the classroom and learn new and exciting things. It is my job to take this natural enthusiasm and nurture their love of learning. A teacher's job is to create a class of life long learners.

My students come from many walks of life.

I teach at a Title I school. My students speak many different languages and come from all levels of socioeconomic groups. Many of my students face challenges, such as not speaking English, as they learn the curriculum. All of my students are required to access the second-grade curriculum to the best of their ability.

In the 21st century, technology is part of the elementary school curriculum. Having 27 students all using computers at the same time can be quite noisy. Students must have headphones and a place to store them. Unfortunately, these are not supplied by the school district and not all students have the ability to supply headphones from home. Our technology center needs to be organized and well-stocked.

My Project

Technology is part of every classroom. Students today must be able to utilize the internet for research and study. Even young students use computers in their studies. Luckily, my students have Chromebooks to use in our classroom, but we do not have headphones. To successfully use the Chromebooks, each child needs a pair of headphones.

A well-stocked and organized technology center is essential for today's classroom.

With additional headphones and a place to store them, my students will be able to access technology daily. With the addition of the floor desks, my students will be able to use the Chromebooks during independent center time. The headphones with storage and floor desks will finally make my technology center complete.
