Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade is a significant time in a child's life in which they learn to read. My students have access to technology daily to enhance their learning of 21st century skills, including reading. I would like to use an innovative computer program that uses an AI reading assistant that listens to, assesses, and tutors students since there isn't enough time in a day for me to read with each child individually.

In order to use this reading assistant program, my students need access to headphones with microphones that will pick up and record their voices.

We have started to use this program, but it can be difficult for students to record their voices with just their chromebooks. The microphones on these headphones will allow the majority of the students to practice their reading with the AI assistant while I work with students individually or in small groups to further improve their reading skills. The headphones will also allow my students to use other learning programs for reading and math practice without disturbing others. Once they are done using them, they will be able to store them safely in the storage bags to help keep the headphones in good shape.
