My Students

I am a teacher in a Title I school; my students are faced with several challenges both in school and at home. They each come from a unique family, economic, and cultural backgrounds. But together they make a group of awesome kiddos eager to learn and grow, not only academically but holistically.

My class is comprised of young and eager first graders in FL.

Though many may not have a model childhood, each minute they are in the classroom, we strive to build a positive classroom community that extends to learning opportunities. I love the ability as a teacher to watch them grow not only in their learning, but as individuals throughout the year.

My Project

The opportunity to have a class set of headphones would be amazing! My students spend atleast 20 minutes each day on the computer on an online program specifically designed to target individualized skills they need in Reading and Math to help them grow and learn. It is a crucial time for them to focus and learn in a fun and different way. One thing keeping them from having the absolute focus and attention is quality headphones. My students families can not all afford to send in personal headphones for each of their children and ones I have bought for them have started to break.

These headphones will allow students to focus on their independent computer sessions without the noise of disrupting their other classmates.

A classroom free of disruption will help lead my students towards being successful and productive individuals.
