This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher and case manager for high school students with disabilities in Gilroy, California. My students are incoming freshman and sophomores. As I’m returning to the classroom after a few years, I do not have any teaching supplies and your support would allow me to work with these students to bridge the gap. I can help students achieve their IEP goals and increase their understanding of grade-level content. Your support is truly appreciated by us all!

My Project

These headphones will allow my students to concentrate on their work. The majority of my students have a difficult time paying attention and are easily distracted. If they were headphones while they are doing their work, they are much more productive and can focus. These headphones are a required part of some of my student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and help them do their work independently without getting distracted. Headphones help my students use their class time efficiently.

Please help me bridge that learning gap for my students.

They need every tool and resource they can to make learning equitable.
